About

DSE Study Hub is a student-run site for PhD scholars in economics at the Delhi School of Economics: coursework explainers, opportunities with deadlines, research resources, a forum and a small community.

Why this exists

Every batch works out the same things from scratch: how to read a paper for the empirical course, which fellowship closes when, where to get NSS data, who to ask about the six-monthly report. Most of it lives in WhatsApp groups and is gone a year later. This site is an attempt to keep it somewhere searchable that outlives any single batch.

What is here now

  • Research papers — the Empirical Methods reading list, each paper with a citation, a link and an explainer. Six have full interactive explainers so far.
  • Opportunities — calls for papers, fellowships, grants, conferences and jobs, sorted by deadline.
  • Resources — data, software, writing tools, library access, funding portals and the job market.
  • Coursework — reading lists, notes and past exams for the PhD courses.
  • Forums and community — one board per course, research help, admin questions, and member profiles with programme stage and research areas.
  • PhD guide — the official handbook, summarised.

Starting small on purpose

The site is built for PhD scholars first. The same structure can carry MA material, MPhil coursework or alumni sections later; for now, doing one thing well seemed better than launching everything at once.

Ground rules

  • Link to published papers rather than uploading them; most are paywalled and the DU library gives everyone access. Share only material you have the right to share, with credit.
  • Be decent. Disagreement about identification strategies is the point; personal attacks are not.
  • Nothing here is official. For anything that affects your registration or degree, rely on the department’s notices and the handbook.

DSE Study Hub is an independent project and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official channel of the Delhi School of Economics, the Department of Economics, or the University of Delhi.
