The IGC runs funding calls once or twice a year for research on growth, firms, cities, state capacity and energy in its partner countries, including India. Grants are typically for fieldwork, data purchase and research assistance, and a faculty member usually has to be PI. If your chapter has a policy counterpart (a state department or agency), this is one of the few funders that likes that.
